Overview
This Privacy Policy describes
the policies between BookLetters and Subscribing Libraries ("Users") related
to applications created and delivered by BookLetters on BookLetters servers. BookLetters also contains links and Widgets to third-party web services common to the industry including publisher generated promotional materials that is deemed to be safe, but outside of the control of BookLetters.
Web services operated by third-parties linked from BookLetters LLC are not part of this Privacy
Policy. We encourage you to refer to
the privacy policies of those services.
Your use of this Service constitutes
your acceptance of all of the terms and conditions contained
in this Privacy Policy. We may change the terms of this Privacy
Policy, review this page from time
to time. Your continued use of this Service following the posting
of changes to the Privacy Policy means that you accept the changes.
Information
Collection - e-mail
We gather and store e-mail addresses
of patrons on behalf of users as part of this service. We may
also record other information that identifies users' computers
to this Service and tracks behavior on the Service. Methods
used to collect this information may include "cookies," which
are small amounts of data sent to your browser from a server
and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Most browsers allow
Users to block the receipt of cookies, but doing so may compromise
your ability to use certain features of this Service.
Use of Information - e-mail
We use this information to send
e-newsletters to library patrons as authorized and controlled
by library personnel from the ToolKit. We also use this information
to better understand the needs of our users, improve security,
administration, and to help diagnose problems with e-mail delivery.
We do not sell, share, or otherwise disclose this information
to any outside parties, however, we may disclose aggregated
anonymous statistics. We monitor e-mail "bounces"
on behalf of users and may delete selected
e-mail addresses that we believe
to be inactive or inaccurate from User subscriber lists . We consider the subscriber
lists of our users to be the sole property of Users.
Clublist.net
The BookLetters Clublist.net module contains membership profile information that requires the collection of additional personal information for authentication. This information is used by BookLetters solely for the execution of that service and available only to the User sponsoring that member.
Security
We limit the amount of data we
collect and we use reasonable security safeguards to protect
personal information we collect from unauthorized access, use,
modification or disclosure. However, due to the design of the
Internet and other factors outside our control, we cannot
guarantee that communications between you and our servers will
be free from unauthorized access by third-parties.
Termination
Practices
Upon termination of this service between BookLetters and the
user, BookLetters deletes and destroys all subscriber e-mail
address listings collected on behalf of User.
