The bookstore division of BookSite provides e-commerce and e-marketing
service to one hundred prominent independent bookstores nationwide. The
responsibility of the Manager- Bookstore Operations, as the primary contact
for those clients, is to assist in promptly resolving operations issues when
they arise avoiding any disruption of services to their customers.
As the sole company representative to booksellers, this position will be
responsible for administration of accounts and user communications, in a
manner that promotes our image as the premier provider of online bookstore
services. The Manager will represent client needs and suggestions as part
of the new product development team. Addressing new business arising from
client referrals, training client personnel, and assisting clients with
content transfer needs, are related responsibilities.
The candidate must have two years of administrative and customer support
experience, a college graduate, and experience with Microsoft Word,
Microsoft Excel, and html. Familiarity with social networking, blogs, and
content management systems is a plus.
This is an ideal position for a well organized individual that enjoys being
their own boss, helping implement new technology, and interacting with
interesting professionals who are the best in their business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-- Perform “Help Desk” support for booksellers
-- Participate as new product development team member
-- Assist customer in data transfer tasks when necessary
-- Oversee project scheduling
-- Monitor database integrity standards
-- Demonstrate BookSite’s bookstore tools to prospective clients
-- Train existing clients on new bookstore applications
-- Oversee the immediate resolution of systems problems when reported by
clients
-- Maintain bookseller user blog
-- Publish the monthly user newsletter
-- Research and report on new web applications being used by others
-- Perform monthly invoicing

This position is ideal for the technically oriented individual who enjoys interacting as a part of a team oriented to full customer service. Qualified candidates will participate in the conversion of the BookLetters platform to a new Web 2.0/RIA based platform. Knowledge in SQL, php and JavaScript are required. Knowledge in Groovy or Python are desirable. The ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical parties is essential.
